We were so privileged to get to honor a true hero this week. Our morning class colored this cute banner and held a little parade for Private 1st Class Les Hatchel. A purple heart recipient who served our country for many years. We picked him up in my dad’s classic corvette and brought him over for his own private parade. Huge thanks to his wife Karen for making this happen. She even brought his purple heart and a picture of the USS Yorktown, the ship Les was on when it was hit by a bomb, causing Les to lose his hearing at 17. It was a remarkable Veteran’s Day! So grateful for the heroes in this world!
